This traditional style llikya features strong diamond patterns of sacred “chili” flower symbols, reminding us how we are dependent on Pachamama and all our natural relations for our very existence. Marcosa Flores is a fine weaver whose every stitch is even, tight, and balanced, evidence her advanced skills at this ancient art.
Marcosa lives in the tiny village of Ccochamoko in the Q’eros Nation, in a remote village at high elevation with no paved roads, no electricity and no plumbing. The images show her with her husband, Guillermo Sonqo and their friend Santos.
