Justina Apasa Samata created this lovely mesa cloth of soft alpaca fiber using natural spun fibers from her café colored alpacas. Every thread used is either the natural color of the alpaca fiber or dyed with natural plants and herbs. The earth-honoring bands of Into symbols in soft blues and tans represent the sun, and the gentle striated bands represent the agricultural fields given to the Q’ero people by Pachamama so they can eat. The textile is soft with an overall balance of hue and tone that evoke peace. Justina wove this sacred mesa by kneeling on the ground outside her home in the Hapu village of Q’eros at 12,000 feet in elevation. Your purchase helps her family and her community build a more sustainable life and supports traditional Q’ero culture. 234 x 23.5 inches. 86 x 59 cm.
