Soft Mesa Cloth of Plants in Fields

Out of stock

SKU: 500.72 Categories: ,

Weaver Alicia Gerillo Quispe wove this soft mesa depicting plants in the growing fields on the slopes of the steep Andes Mountains. Using hand-spun alpaca fibers, Alicia created a balance of natural alapca colors in tan, cream, browns, grey and black with subtle use of a very muted pink to give a lovely depth of hues to represent the flowering plants in the agricultural fields. Alicia created this textile — a work of visual poetry — outside her stone house in Kiku (Quico), Q’eros, at 12,000 feet in elevation under the caring gaze of the Apus. Ths mesa folds nicely.  27 x 21 inches.  68 x 53 cm.  Your purchase includes a photo of Alicia holding your new mesa.
