The bright images of Sacred Inti (Sun and Light) in this mesa cloth evoke strength and confidence in a world coming into harmony and balance. The figures of the Chunchu dancer represent the coming return of Inkarri, the great Inka who is believed to return to restore the Andean culture to its former greatness.   Elder Rina Quispe Huillca of Kiku (Quico) Q’eros used her bright personality to create this beautifully woven textile framing the Inkarri and Init (light, sun) with bold colors. Rina wove this mesa cloth kneeling on the ground outside her home in Kiku (Quico) above 12,000 feet in elevation under the watchful protection of Apu Mama Rosa. Your purchase helps her family and her community build a more sustainable life and supports traditional Q’ero culture.  31 x 24.5 inches. 79 x 62 cm.  Your purchase includes a photo of weaver Rina holding your new mesa cloth.
