Out of stock

Q’ero men knit their ceremonial hats of colorful yarns using 5 curved knitting needles. Each hat consists of 7 levels of spirituality as reflected in the sacred symbols throughout the hat. Traditionally a man would bead his hats as a form of courtship to demonstrate their great patience to his beloved.

This hat was made by Santos Machacca Apaza of Qochamoko village in Q’eros. Most Q’ero hats are too small for European or Northern American heads, but this one will fit a medium head.
