Every textile has a story, and a gift with a story behind it is a treasure. This textile was purchased from Julia Machaca Paucar from Hapu in July 2024. Her husband passed away two weeks prior in a tragic accident. We bought this fine textile and many, many others from her, so that she would have money to provide for her four children. Your purchase helps put money directly in Julia’s hands, as well as benefits her entire community, as the proceeds fund projects in her community.
This handsome scarf is thinner, great for casual wear for a distinguished look. Dark brown hues are complemented by a single band of Ch’unch symbols in contrasting orange and green. A photo card of the weaver holding your chalina is included with the purchase. Measures 64 x 4.5 inches, 163 x 11.5 cm. Blessings to you for helping Q’ero women support their families. Munay!
