This soft and gentle mesa is long and narrow, decorated in bright blues, orange, and purple hued symbols that represent the sun, and the gentle striated bands represent the agricultural fields. The textile is soft with an overall balance and tone that evokes peace. Matilda wove this sacred mesa by kneeling on the ground outside her home in the Quico village of Q’eros at 12,000 feet in elevation.
