This extra large ceremonial altar cloth is intricate and comples. The beautiful woven symbols in this mesa represent “saqas tika” the furrows, fields and flowering plants in beautiful balance. Less contrast within the T’iqas gives the textile an antique feel, bringing more emphasis to the band of cafe and deep maroon that represent the abundance of agricultural fields. The T’ikas design, also know as the chili motif, is a complex advanced design. This mesa was woven by master weaver Martina Huaman Apasa in her home community of Hapu. Very large, it measures 34 x 27.5 inches. 86 x 70 cm. Your purchase supports Martina, her family, and her community in Q’eros.
