This soft, colorful lliklla cloth carries the power of life-giving water depicted by symmetrical zig-zag lines. The q’ocha design is a predominant motif in Q’ero textiles. The Quechua word q’ocha refers to a lake, mountain lagoon, or pool. It can even refer to the ocean. This ceremonial cloth is typically worn around the back and shoulders of Q’ero women and pinned at the front. All Q’ero weavings are like visual poetry that express the Q’ero people’s intimate and reciprocal relationship of AYNI with all elements of the universe. This brilliant ceremonial llikya cloth is large and folds nicely, measuring 32 x 27.5 inches. 81 x 70 cm.
