Stunning Saqas T’ika Mesa / Bright, Beautiful Mestana

$170.00

Out of stock

This bright ceremonial altar cloth brings a sense of cheer and lightness of heart. The beautiful woven symbols in this mesa represent “saqas tika” — the furrows, fields and flowering plants — in beautiful balance. The entire textile is visual poetry that expresses the Q’ero people’s intimate relationship with the earth and with all aspects of the natural and spiritual world and strong connection to Pachamama, the Apus, and all beings. Marcusa Gerillo Quispe from the community of Quico created this stunning textile. A photo of her holding the textile in her community is included with the purchase, connecting you to her home and lineage. Nearly square, it measures 28 x 29 inches.  71 x 74 cm. Your purchase supports Marcusa, her family, and her community of Quico in Q’eros.
