This extra large ceremonial altar cloth evokes a sense of power and wisdom. The beautiful woven symbols in this mesa represent “saqas tika” — the furrows, fields and flowering plants — in beautiful balance. The entire textile is visual poetry that expresses the Q’ero people’s intimate relationship with the earth and with all aspects of the natural and spiritual world and strong connection to Pachamama, the Apus, and all beings. The T’ikas design, also know as the chili motif, is a complex advanced design. This mese was woven by master weaver Martina Huaman Apasa in her home community of Hapu. Nearly square and very large, it measures 31 x 32 inches. 79 x 82 cm. Your purchase supports Martina, her family, and her community in Q’eros.
