This beautiful mesa cloth reflects weaver Julia Machaca Phacsi’s precision in spinning and weaving detailed symbols in straight fine rows. The four rows contain large Chunchu Inti Pupu figures (foretelling the return of the great era of the Inca through Inkarri). There are several llama or vicuña figures as well. All Q’ero weavings are visual poetry that express the Q’ero people’s intimate and reciprocal relationship of AYNI with all elements of the universe. The wide black bands represent the uncultivated fields of the pampa. Julia created this stunning mesa in her home in Hapu, Q’eros, under the watchful gaze of sacred Apu Mama Rosa. This mesa cloth is soft and folds easily, measuring 28 x 27 inches. 71 x 69 cm. Your purchase includes a photo of Julia’s husband holding your new mesa cloth.
