Colorful Ch’unchu Coca Bag

$60.00

In stock

Young weaver, Eva Silvia Phacsi Gerillo, used bright colors to highlight the sacred Chunchu (Inkarri) figures.  She lives in the Q’ero village of Kiku (Quico), where she weaves with her mother, kneeling on the ground, outside her home in the Andes Mountains. Coca bags are traditionally worn by men to hold coca leaves, khuyas, and other sacred items. This well made alpaca chuspa bag is 7.5″ wide x 9 inches long plus fringe and long woven strap.  19 x 23 cm. plus fringe and woven strap. All proceeds go to support the weaver, her family, and her community to preserve their beautiful culture and to fund projects that build a more stable life.
