This scarf is exquisite. It is soft and expertly woven. It folds nicely and feels smooth to the touch. The traditional Q’ero colors of bright red, yellow, and blue, maintain an earthy feel, with two bold bands of colorful Ch’unchu symbols and a Qocha center line. These soft and bright combinations give it an ordered contrast. This chalina was woven by Emiliana Phacsi Mamani in her home village of Hapu, and measures 60 x 6.5 inches plus fringe. 152 x 17 cm.
We see the art and tradition of weaving as sacred, and celebrate the fact that everyone participates in keeping this knowledge alive. Your purchase helps the continuation of the craft. 64 x 6.75 inches plus fringe. 163 x 16.5 cm.
