This soft all natural alpaca textile is woven in the classic Q’ero style with distinctive rows of the sacred Inkari (Chunchu) symbols. Rosaluz Gerillo Apasa is a master weaver in her community of Lekipampa, she is also deaf and mute. Rosaluz walks for hours to sell us her textiles, and she is always the most cheerful and excited to see us. The earth toned bands she used in this textile are happy and gentle, just like her. Four rows of detailed Chunchu symbols express the Q’ero people’s belief in the coming return of Inkarri (great Inka leader) and the resurgence of the greatness of the descendants of the Inka people. 100% of this textile is woven from hand spun alpaca fibers, and the colors are created from natural dyes. The weavers have long asked for projects improving the diversity of their herds and this beautiful textile is a result of those projects. Your purchase helps Rosaluz live with dignity and purpose as she promotes her beautiful culture. 27.5 x 26.5 inches. 70 x 67 cm.
