A variety of natural colors of alpaca fibers frame a band of sacred Chunchu (Inkarri) lined with soft pink bands of natural dyes. This traditional Q’ero coca bag, or chuspa was woven by master weaver Deonicia Apasa Machaca, who hand spun the pure alpaca fiber into fine yarns. She created this traditional coca bag, or chuspa, kneeling on the ground outside her home village of Kiku (Quico) in the Q’ero region of the Andes Mountains. 10″ wide x 11″ long plus fringe and strap. 27 x 30 cm. Your purchase helps the weaver, her family and her community to preserve culture and build a more stable life. Photo of Deonicia holding this bag is included with your purchase.
