Q’ero watana beaded strands tie mesa bundles. Q’ero women also use them as hat straps that fall below the chin. Many westerners use these strands of beads as bracelets, necklaces or home decor. Wider beaded strands are worn as hatbands.
Soft alpaca rope ties your mesa bundle with the gentleness of Q’eros in every fiber. These extra-long ties are individually hand-braided by men in Q’eros.
All jewelry has been donated by the artists to raise funds to help the Q’ero people.

Building a High School in the Clouds
Our generous donors are funding the first high school in the ethnic Hapu Q’ero region of Peru. Children will no longer have to leave their families to attend secondary school. This new high school at 12,000 feet elevation in the Andes will bring relief to many families struggling to help their children get a basic education.
